Some members of the congregation are upset that Riva was never considered as her husband’s replacement. The church’s board apparently never gave her the chance to succeed her husband, whom she divorced in 2008.
“Pastor Zach died and Pastor Riva is alive. Who knows that church better than she does? And she wasn’t even considered,” said one of the church’s members.
Pastor Zachery Tims died in August in a hotel room in New York City. A “white powdery substance” was found with the pastor at the time, leading some to speculate that drugs may have been involved.
