Boxing star Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been sent to jail. Mayweather has been sentenced to 90 days in jail as a result of pleading guilty to a domestic violence and battery charge in an incident involving his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris. The fighter has been told to report to jail on January 6.
Judge Melissa Saragosa also told Mayweather that he is expected to complete 100 hours of community service and pay a $2,500 fine. Mayweather and his team are happy to take the deal, since this allows him to avoid felony charges. In September, 2010, Mayweather was accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend and threatening her two children during an argument over another man.
